Description
Stirring music set for SATB Christmas choir:
What welcome would be fitting the King of Kings who left His Father’s throne?
Great love was in His coming. His works would wondrous be, this King of Kings.
What welcome would be fitting the great I Am who formed this earth we know?
Great power, justice, mercy
In one are all with Him, the great I Am.
What welcome would be fitting?
Prophets of the Highest for ages proclaiming the news of His birth.
What welcome would be fitting:
A virgin mother, submissive and fair, and Joseph, guardian true.
What welcome would be fitting for the Son of God?
What welcome would be fitting?
A new star, a sign, a heavenly witness, that a King is born!
Except foretold, who would have thought he’d come a lowly babe–
No silken gowns, but swaddling clothes,
No cradle fit with jewels, but a manger.
Even in birth He taught us: He would descend below all things.
For He would learn to succor the wounds we all will know, acquainted with sorrow.
What welcome would be fitting my Savior,
The Risen Lord Almighty whose hands are stretched t’ward me?
His love is ever present, His mercy ever sweet.
What welcome will I give my King?
